Pagoda Street, one of the earliest streets of Singapore, is the “main and main” of Chinatown and encompasses the rich Chinese heritage of Singapore. The street was named after the pyramidal tower of Sri Mariamman Temple at the end of the street along South Bridge Road, which was often referred to as “Pagoda”.
