Property Overview

This charming adjoining trio of 3.5-storey shophouses situated near the bustling intersection of Duxton Road and Craig Road enjoys triple frontage. Strategically located within a 5-min walk from the existing Tanjong Pagar MRT and Outram Park MRT stations, as well as the upcoming Maxwell MRT station, tenants benefit from great visibility, excellent foot traffic, and neatly-lined carpark lots.

This row of shophouses had ties to Singapore’s first official surgeon, Dr. William Montgomery (1797-d. 1856), as part of a nutmeg plantation he owned. Montgomerie’s plantation, which spanned 13 ha with 1,800 trees, included a portion of the current Tanjong Pagar Road.  It was said that he was the first to introduce gutta-percha to Europe in 1842. In fact, Duxton Road and Craig Road were named after the two original dwelling houses nestled within the plantation, Duxton House and Craig Hill respectively, after a land auction to Ker, Rawson & Co. in 1856.
